Peace Corps Rankings: We’re No. 10 (or No. 1, Depending on How You Count)
The latest rankings of which schools send the most grads to the Peace Corps are out, and U.Va. is again among the best in the nation.
The Peace Corps reports that there are currently 64 U.Va. grads enlisted, which is 10th-best in the large-school category. (The University of Washington leads with 101.)
U.Va. used to be a perennial winner in the medium-school category, but was inexplicably moved up to the large-school class a couple of years ago. Supposedly, the cut-off is 15,000 undergrads; according to the official fall census, U.Va. has 14,297. Virginia would easily be No. 1 in the medium-school list, which is led by George Washington University (53 grads).
UVA Today will be doing more reporting on this next week, but until then — congrats to those Wahoos who go out and make friends in the world!
