Magazine Honors University-Owned Inn

It’s probably too late to book a room for a football weekend — at least this year — but Travel and Leisure magazine named the Boar’s Head Inn as one of its top 20 University hotels in its June issue. (Our copy must have gotten lost in the mail.)
According to a press release from the University of Virginia Foundation, which owns the facility:
The Inn has received increased acclaim since completing renovations earlier this year. In March 2011, after nearly a year of research and planning, a variety of improvements to the property began, including new state-of-the-art fitness equipment and enhanced landscaping and walkways. In December 2011, a major renovation of all 175 of the Inn’s guest rooms began. Rooms were completed in March 2012, and guests have immediately responded to the warm, residential feeling of the spaces, the mix of antique and modern furnishings, and the fresh color schemes. Special attention was given to the artwork; vintage photos and memorabilia speak to the connection with the University, Thomas Jefferson and the rich history of the area.
