One Vote We Can All Agree On
Republicans and Democrats! Tea partiers and tree huggers! It’s time to come together for just one election.
Southern Living magazine has anointed U.Va. as one of 20 finalists for the title of “The South’s Top Tailgate.” Of course, the final title will be decided by an Internet vote, with a deadline of Oct. 1. (Yeah, we’re suckers for online votes. But our Super Bowl ad contest guy won! We’ve done it before; we can do it again.) Cavalier fans are competing with folks from a lot of huge schools — including the current leader, Clemson — so it’s going to take a major effort.
One voter will win $2,500. Not a huge sum, but enough to throw a heckUVA tailgate party.
The September issue that highlights the contest goes on sale Friday. To vote via smartphone, you’ll need to scan a QR code from the article. I assume that will be somewhat self-explanatory.
