New JPA Extended Bridge is Finally Open
For those University employees whose commute has been disrupted for the past 18 months or so, this is a red-letter day: The rebuilt bridge over Jefferson Park Avenue Extended opened at 2 p.m. today.
Once again, there is direct a vehicular connection between the University and Fry’s Spring. Traffic on two-lane Shamrock Road should subside to normal levels. The bridge will no longer threaten to collapse onto the railroad tracks. And the long-suffering merchants of the Wayside shopping area shall suffer no longer.
And there was much rejoicing!
(Now, let’s get someone working on the McCormick Road bridge.)
