Videos Preview U.Va.’s Coursera Offerings
The University of Virginia is poised to plunge into the world of MOOCs (massive open online courses) next month with the debut of six courses, being offered through Coursera.
To introduce the first six courses to potential students, the University has posted a series of short videos featuring the pioneering professors who are teaching the courses:
- How Things Work I (Louis Bloomfield, Dept. of Physics, College of Arts & Sciences)
- Foundations of Business Strategy (Michael Lenox, Darden School of Business)
- Grow to Greatness: Smart Growth for Private Businesses, Part I (Edward Hess, Darden School of Business)
- Grow to Greatness: Smart Growth for Private Businesses, Part II (Edward Hess, Darden School of Business)
- Know Thyself (Mitchell Green, Department of Philosophy, College of Arts & Sciences)
- The Modern World Global History Since 1760 (Philip Zelikow, Corcoran Department of History, College of Arts & Sciences)

I have signed up for Professor Zelikow’s Coursera course on the History of the Modern World which is scheduled to start on 1/14.. I have no idea about the times it will be available for viewing or how to access the lectures.
