ACC Women’s Swimming Dynasty Rolls On
Six in a row. and counting.
The University of Virginia women’s swimming and diving team earned its sixth consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference championship this weekend in Greensboro, N.C., and it wasn’t even close. The Cavaliers scored 832 points, nearly 300 more than second-place Virginia Tech.
U.Va.’s sixth straight title matches two streaks by North Carolina (1981-96 and 1991-96) for the most consecutive women’s ACC Championships. For U.Va. head coach Mark Bernardino, this is his 26th conference title — 15 men’s titles and 11 women’s crowns.

Thanks. Fixed it. I may be a professional writer and editor, but I never claimed to be a professional typist!

I am so proud to see that the University supports the non-revenue sports so well, and that they have done so well. I wish to thank all those who compete for UVa who do not receive the publicity garnered by the Big Two, for they are the true STUDENT-athletes around the Grounds. Congratulations to them all, and in particular, to Ms Perdue, who represented our country and our University in the London Olympics. And special thanks to the coaches who play such an important role in assuring their teams’ success.
